Collectors of the UNC Herbarium Katherine Hale (b. 1987) Information compiled by Carol Ann McCormick The University of North Carolina Herbarium has catalogued a handful of specimens collected by Katherine Hale. Ms. Hale graduated from St. Johns College in Annapolis, Maryland with a B.A. in 2009. Ms. Hale performed an inventory of the vascular plants of New River State Park in Ashe County, North Carolina between May 2008 – July 2009. The photo below, by Eric Dodson of Western Carolina University, shows her on one of her field sites. She volunteered in the University of North Carolina Herbarium in 2010-2011, and plans to pursue a career in botany & land conservation.
