Rose Lorraine Peifer

The UNC Herbarium has catalogued approximately 60 specimens collected by Rose Peifer. She and co-collectors Mark Peifer, Lillian McCormick, and Carol Ann McCormick are documenting the flora of Alamance County, North Carolina.

Rose Peifer was born on 30 May 1993 in Durham County, North Carolina to Mark Peifer and Carol Ann McCormick. She is older sister to Lillian Claire McCormick. Rose lives in Alamance County, North Carolina.

Rose plays flute and piccolo in concert band, plays tenor saxophone in jazz band, and sings in Youth Choir at University Presbyterian Church. She is looking forward to being a member of the Cedar Ridge High School cross country running team.

She is an annual participant in the Great Smoky Mountains Wildflower Pilgrimage. She is adept at finding Orobanche uniflora L. She is interested in terrestrial snails and is learning to identify them.

Rose is looking forward to visiting Turkey in August 2007 with Aziz Sancar, Gwen Sancar, and her family.
